ABOUT SUE

Sue Green is a textiles-mixed media Artist and Tutor.

 

Beginning her working career as a nursery nurse, Sue made the most of this

opportunity by opening & running her own nursery & school art club.

 

From her work with young children & with a passion & gift of being artistically talented, her career then took a new path as she went back to college to be an art student for the next 5 years:

 

  • 2000 studied textiles on a foundation year at Swindon School of Art & Design, gaining a merit

  • 2000-2001 studied at New College Swindon Art & Design - Textiles - A2 Level - A Pass (3rd highest marks in the country)

  • 2003-2005 studied at Glos Cat Art College -Stitched Textiles - H.N.D.- A Pass -15 Distinctions

 

Inspired by artist Michael Porter, Sue showcases her local Cirencester woodlands, including the beautiful silver birch trees (see image below), with their differing and vast patterns and peeling, textural bark, in elements of her artwork & creative designs.

 

Since 1999 Sue has explored a range of opportunities to develop & enhance her natural talents. Sue gained extensive business experience as Creative Manager at

a Cirencester studio in Love Lane, as she ran two art studios, and delivered creative workshops & bespoke picture framing services specialising in framing textiles art.

 

Today, Sue works as a freelance mixed media & textile artist, tutor & speaker, passionately delivering workshops, commissions & conservation work, community projects, exhibitions, as well as private workshops, classes & 1:1 tuition for individuals & groups of children & adults.
